Buck Skinners Featured At The Old Time Gathering

The Buck skinners will be featured at the Old time Gathering on Saturday, September 22 at the Dodge County Fairgrounds, Beaver Dam.  They will have their camp set up and will be dressed in period costume.  They will also have their teepees set up.  Their old time crafts include blacksmithing, cooking, black powder, cannons, candle making, trade goods, flint napping, and fire starting.  They will be demonstrating various crafts and have wares for sale. This year in the buck skinners area there will also be spinning and tomahawk throwing.  Indian fry bread will be available for sale.  The candy canon will fire on the hour. Old Time Gathering Features Old Time Exhibitors

The Old Time Gathering held at the Dodge County Fairgrounds on September 22, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 pm. will feature a variety of exhibitors.   Old time crafters will be located in the Youth Building.   Throughout the day there will be demonstrations, hands-on opportunities, and old time crafts.   Exhibits include spinning and fiber arts, weaving, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, braided rugs, primitive wool hooking, quilting featuring a "treadle machine," stitchery, stencil painting, herbs and healing, basket weaving, beading, scherenshnitte, rosemaling, trapping, chair caning, kitemaking, old time tools, toys, and trains, butter making, doll collecting and much, much more.   There will be old time games.   There will be a model train and mammals of Wisconsin display in the Big Dairy Barn.
